I was born and brought up in a culture where Henna is a part of everyday living and used for medicinal purposes. Carrying such beauty and a unique form of art, I moved to Airdrie 15 years ago and noticed that this Artistic city celebrated art in a way I never saw before, but one state of the art was missing, and that's how the thought came across. So I have the pleasure of being the first one to introduce henna art in Airdrie.
I appreciated, encouraged and awarded for this action, and the residents of Airdrie showered an unbelievable amount of love. From then till now, Henna has been a part of Airdrie on all occasions, from Birthday parties to School Clubs and Libraries, from Christmas events to Mother's day celebrations; Henna is everywhere because the Henna plant does not belong to one Culture or Country. It carries the healing properties which everyone should and must enjoy. ​
My clients are not clients for me but a part of my life. We share joy & I love to see the smile on their face while i am applying henna because.....BEAUTY OF HENNA CANNOT PRAISE ENOUGH.

 Dua Junaid is a self-taught Canadian artist based in Alberta. While pursuing her Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Waterloo, she loves to paint and teach through art what she has learned in academics. Known for her realistic, nature-inspired work, Dua is continuously exploring the intersection between art and the built environment, and how both engage the human soul in ways not often recognized.
I'm not sure what I want to be yet, but what I am sure of is the fact that I want to do art for the rest of my life- as a hobby and hopefully in some way integrated in my career.  I also do Henna art with my mom, who owns a henna business, that's just another form of art I love to do. Hopefully being in this academy, I'll learn about all I can about my favorite subject- Art!
